Tranquility and beauty are two of the desirable characteristics of the properties nestled in the triangle formed by I-65, I-465 and I-865. Neighborhoods, Homes and Schools
The neighborhoods and homes in Traders Point are filled with wooded areas, creeks and streams. There are many established neighborhoods on large lots. Newer communities include West 86th and The Preserve at Eagle Creek. This upscale area hosts homes with an average cost of more than $370,000.,with a few modestly priced neighborhoods and condos. Trader's Point is just far enough away, but close enough to shopping, dining and city amenities.
Children from the area attending public schools are part of the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township. In its nine elementary schools, three middle schools and high school with a satellite freshman center, the school district prides itself on cutting edge technology and facilities. The school district offers a choice in the annual school calendar with some of the facilities operating on a traditional schedule and some operating on year round schedule.
Traders Point Indiana contributes almost 7,000 people to the Township population of just under 72,000 residents. Being fairly affluent, this particular portion of Pike Township and exceeds the Township average household income of about $54,500 per year by approximately $30,000 with an average income of just under $85,000. The median age of the area residents is in the mid to late 30’s.
Community Pride
There is an array of shopping, dining and entertainment establishments throughout the Pike Township area along with a few light industrial enterprises. Although benefiting from these business areas with quick and easy access, Traders Point Indiana is almost exclusively residential and the community is striving to remain this way.
Traders Point Indiana is filled with rich history and the residents strive to preserve and extend that history. The area was originally a trading post along one of the first state highways through Indiana, Lafayette Road, and became a small town. As time passed the area continued to draw the financial and business leaders of the area, even through the Great Depression. Many came to the area for recreational purposes, like hunting cabins or lodges, but many others came and established their homes. Several of these homes still exist in good condition. Maintaining the history and serenity of the area is defining force of this community.
